Things to do in Ko Lipe – Thailand

One of the best things to do in Ko Lipe is to dive and snorkel. This island lies near the Malaysian border and is within the Tarutao National Marine Park, which is known for its coral-rich waters. There are several beautiful beaches in the area, including Pattaya and Hat Chao Le, and there are also many great dive sites like the 8 Mile Rock pinnacle and the Yong Hua Shipwreck. The islands are also home to a group of aboriginal Malay people known as the Urak Lawoi.

For an evening out on the town, you can check out the Art Beach Club, which has a spectacular sea view and a different vibe than the rest of the island. Although there are a few bars on the island, it is a good idea to try out the umbrella drinks before heading out on the town. If you’re traveling with children, consider renting kayaks and tubes, which are fun and affordable. You can also learn how to make batik art, a 2000-year-old method of dye-resistance waxing.

Hiking is a great way to get a birds-eye view of the island. The trail to Koh Adang is less than an hour long and passes three lookouts. This is a great way to enjoy the sunset over Koh Lipe, but you may want to bring bug spray and a head torch. In case you’re a beginner, it’s best to take your time on the trail.

If you’re looking for something a little more active, try yoga. There are three different classes in the studio each day. You can sign up for one of the three sessions in the morning at 7 a.m., or you can go for a more relaxed session in the afternoon at 4 p.m. If you’re a social butterfly, consider joining the Trash Hero Project on Ko Lipe. This project meets every morning on Pattaya’s beaches at 10 a.m.

Best Beaches on Ko Lipe

The best beaches on Ko Lipe are small and perfect for a family outing. The waters here are crystal clear and the white sand is soft and powdery. They are perfect for snorkeling and swimming, and you can even see a photogenic boat moored in the bay. The best part is that all of the beaches on Ko Lipe are within walking distance of one another. This makes them ideal for families.

The best Ko Lipe beaches are situated on the eastern side of the island. The main three beaches are Sunrise Beach, Sunset and Pattaya. There are also a number of smaller private beaches on the island. Of these, Pattaya is probably the most popular. The white sand and crystal blue water are a great combination for families. It is protected from monsoon winds in low season, and cooled by cool breezes during high season.

Another great Ko Lipe beach is Sunrise Beach. This beach is on the opposite end of Walking Street to Pattaya Beach and is fairly developed. I found it to be more exposed to wind when I visited, and it wasn’t ideal for swimming. However, Sunrise is one of the most picturesque beaches on Ko Lipe, with its exotic blue waters and views of the nearby island of Koh Adang.
