When you think about Las Vegas NV, you think about all the things that the mega-resorts have to offer. However, there is so much more to do than just spend your time in a casino. Las Vegas is made up of a diverse population with amazing things to do when you get off the strip and travel a little.

You might not think there is a lot to do when you get outside the strip, but there is definitely plenty to do. When people travel to Las Vegas, they always spend their time in casinos and nightlife and miss out on some fantastic experiences this city has to offer.

This museum features some of the most iconic decommissioned signs that used to hang high above the Las Vegas Strip. Perhaps you love what nature has to offer. If so, you should check out the Springs Preserve. This family-friendly botanical garden has six miles worth of walk trails that will have the plant lover in you wanting more. Springs Preserve also features the largest collection of Mojave Desert cacti for you viewing pleasure.

Lake Las Vegas is a great place to get away from the crowds and find some awesome entertainment you wouldn’t have expected.

The city is full of world-class cuisine from all over the world, and new restaurants are opening up every day. With celebrity chefs aplenty, there is always a great place to sit down and eat like royalty.

However, one of the best places to stop in that is off the beaten path is at the Kitchen Table. The Kitchen Table exclusively serves breakfast and lunch in Henderson NV. It offers simple, fair food like pancakes and waffles, but you can up your experience by trying some of their signature dishes. In a city that has some of the greatest entertainers under one roof, Las Vegas has some of the best musical experiences are anywhere in the world. One of the best experiences the city has to offer is First Friday. You will be greeted with fantastic art and music from local artists downtown next to the art district. If bars are the place for you, then you have to stop by Aces and Ales, where you will find a fun environment and some great beer. This is a great place to hang out with the gang and have some fun as the locals do. Aces and Ales will have you stopping in the next time you are in Vegas.

Perhaps a golden adventure is in order, and if so, then make sure to stop by the Golden Tiki in Chinatown. This bar not only features some fantastic drinks, but the atmosphere is also fun and inventive. With a talking skeleton to an enjoyable drinking experience, the Golden Tiki does a tremendous job of merging great story-telling and fun animatronics. Best Day Trip Out of Las Vegas

One of my favorite places to go when I’m trying to escape the city is not too far out of the city limit. Red Rock Canyon offers amazing day hikes with beautiful views of the city and great nature to immerse yourself in.

Another great day trip outside of city limits is Hoover Dam. The Dam that holds the mighty Colorado River and home of the best damn tour in the country. It is also a fun walk up to the interstate bridge where you will find breathtaking view of the damn and straddle the state line of Nevada and Arizona.

Something that not many travelers would know about Las Vegas

Something that you might not know about Las Vegas is that it is considered the ninth island of Hawaii. Hawaiians consider Las Vegas the ninth island because of the substantial Hawaiian population that now resides in Las Vegas.

So the next time you are looking for a fantastic place to spend a few days or a few weeks, then Vegas is the place to be. There is so much to do that you will never be able to fit it all in on one trip.
