Along the way, you can stop at attractions such as Suncoast Casino, Battery Beach, Ushaka Marine World, the skate park, Mini Town and rickshaw rides pulled by men in eccentric costume. It is our paradise at home, with many people enjoying the stretch at sunrise, or taking a jog when the sun is setting.

The Umhlanga Lagoon walk is possibly one of Durban’s best-kept secrets. The trail is suitable for runners or families with children in tow. The terrain transforms from wetlands, forest, and coastal environments, with some sand dunes scattered around. It is a refuge for many plants and animals, thanks to its unique location so close to the beach. At the end of the walk, you will exit onto the serene Umhlanga beachfront.

In Durban, you have to try shisa nyama. It is local cuisine which is braaied (barbecued) meat served with pap and enjoyed with local beer. There are restaurants in Durban dedicated to the groove lounge culture that is shisa nyama, such as Café Skyzer in Chesterville, The Joint Jazz Café in South Beach and Artizen Restaurant and Lounge in KwaMashu.
